About this Photograph:

This image captures a quiet, introspective moment amid the constant motion of New York City. A woman sits peacefully inside a café, immersed in her book and coffee, surrounded by cozy autumn decor. Yet through the curved glass, the towering architecture of the city looms in surreal distortion—bending the familiar into something dreamlike.

The layered reflections fold past, present, and possible futures into a single frame. Outside and inside merge; buildings stretch and swirl around her, while the golden leaves and playful hedgehogs on the glass suggest both whimsy and seasonal warmth.

As the photographer, I was drawn to how all these spaces—architectural, emotional, temporal—seemed to coexist without tension. My own presence is hinted at in the reflections, quietly observing the contrast between stillness and movement, intimacy and grandeur. This image
became a meditation on peace amidst complexity, and the fleeting magic that can be found in the in-between.
