Artist Statement
It seems that I have loved art in all its various forms from before I can even remember. My first memory of creating art was drawing cartoon characters from Walt Disney and wondering, as a little girl, if people could do this for the rest of their lives.
As I grew older, I discovered the world of photography and studied it intensely in all of its various artistic ways. I graduated with a Fine Arts degree from the University of Ottawa, majoring in Studio and Photography and originally went on to photograph for magazines and weddings. That was short lived as I craved true artistic freedom, from there pursuing more creative ways to express myself by combining my photographs with other mixed media forms and showing my work in Europe.
It was inevitable that I would discover technology (I'm a tech geek at heart) and I have a profound love for taking photographs and then turning them into something more, something that transforms the mundane, everyday moment into something infinitely more interesting. I love to travel to new places, to explore the everyday life of those around us on this planet, to see what gets looked over so often in our busy lives.
I can't imagine a world without art in it. I hope you enjoy my view.
