About this Photograph:

There was something immediately tender and timeless about this moment at Chelsea Market. This couple—lost in wonder at the glowing counter of Dickson’s Farmstand Meats—felt like they had stepped straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Their coats bundled, heads tilted just-so in curiosity, it was impossible not to be drawn in.

For me, it triggered a memory: being a small child peering into the glass case of a candy shop, overwhelmed with the sheer joy of choosing just one rock candy stick from a rainbow of colours. This image carries that same childlike sense of anticipation and delight.

The reflections, the warm light, the vintage charm of the butcher’s signage—they all echo a slower, sweeter time. And yet, this is now. This is modern-day New York. Which makes the scene all the more magical—because sometimes, the past and present do meet, if only for a moment, right at the counter of something delicious.
